RON D. BRYANT
A native Kentuckian, Ron makes his home in Georgetown with his wife, Jane Cobb Bryant. Ron has served as Historical Consultant
for authors, TV and radio programs. A much sought after public speaker, Ron Bryant has brought History to life for many facets
of society. A member of many Lineage Societies himself, Ron won the National Genealogical Society's prestigious Filby Award
in 2005, for his contributions to genealogy. He has served as Historian for the Kentucky State Parks System and adjunct Professor
of History at Lexington Community College. For nearly 20 years Ron was with the Kentucky Historical Society, where he served
as Curator of rare books and Kentucky History and Genealogy Specialist. Ron Bryant made significant contributions to the
Kentucky Encyclopedia, wrote A Bibliography of Kentucky History, writes for the Kentucky Gazette and has completed a history
of Kentucky State Parks.
BASIL 'BAZZ' CHILDRESS
A resident of Lexington, Bazz is the descendant of Revolutionary War veteran Pleasant Childress, and George Washington
Childress, Corporal in Company G, 10th Kentucky Cavalry CSA. Bazz is a member of the Morgan's Men Association and the Sons
of Confederate Veterans - currently serving as Chief of Staff to the Kentucky Division's SCV Commander. Bazz and his family
are members of Central Baptist Church, where Bazz has served as Treasurer for 15 years. He has also served on the personnel,
finance and deacon boards. Bazz is currently employed by a central Kentucky bank as Vice President and Head of Special Assets.
Bazz earned his Degree in Business Administration at the University of Kentucky in 1984. He has been married to Rachel Smith
Childress for 28 years and they have two daughters, Julianna and Delaney.
BETTY WOLFE LONG
A resident of Louisville, KY, research the old-fashioned way earned Betty membership in Fincastle Chapter, Daughters of
the American Revolution, where she is immediate Past Regent. Besides Kentucky Historical Society and Kentucky Genealogical
Society memberships, she belongs to The Filson Historical Society, The Louisville Historical League, The Beargrass - St. Matthews
Historical Society and Portland Museum. A retired Biology, Earth Science, and Physical Sciences teacher from Atherton High
School in Louisville, Betty holds a BA, MAT and PHD (Biology) from The University of Louisville. Betty has published numerous
articles and books, including "Herstory of Nancy Price Arnsparger and Her Family - 1866 to 1943." Betty is currently
preparing materials for The George H. Yater Collection for The University of Louisville Library Archives.
SAMUEL D. HATCHER
Residing in Pikeville, Kentucky, Sam harbors a lifelong interest in Kentucky history. He holds an office or membership
in each of the following Historical organizations: President and Director of the Friends of the Samuel May House, Inc., Treasurer
of the Floyd County Historical Society, Past President Big Sandy Valley Historical Society and member of the Kentucky Historical
Society. Sam Hatcher is an Instructor and Chairman of Accounting and Business at the National College in Pikeville.
SHARON MAYNE WITHERS
A native of Whitley County, KY, Sharon has resided in Lexington for the past 25 years. She holds membership in many lineage
and genealogical societies, having done her own research as well as research for many others. Her publications include the
1820, 1830, and 1840 census transcriptions of Whitley County, Kentucky as well as articles in genealogical society quarterlies.
Sharon holds a BS degree in Medical Technology from Eastern Kentucky University and a MS in Clinical Education from the University
of Kentucky. A 25 year employee of the UK Medical Center, she is currently the Master Technologist in the Special Hematology
section of the laboratory. She is a sought after speaker for lectures and genealogical workshops, particularly on the topic
of DNA as a genealogical tool.
CONNIE DANIELS GRAVES
A native Kentuckian, Connie lives in Versailles with her husband, Wilford Graves. Connie has published a family history,
Daniels Family of Wayne Co., WVA, as well as a Daniel family newsletter. Connie organized a restoration of her family cemetery
in Nicholas Co., including an historic stone fence and placement of a bronze marker. Connie has worked as researcher for
the Bellamys of Early Virginia, and maintains a website for the Barbees of Bourbon Co KY. Connie's interest in history includes
active membership in several lineage, historical and archaeological societies. She attended Georgetown College and the University
of KY and is presently working on a degree in Art History. Connie looks forward to helping maintain the integrity of the
Kentucky Historical Society as well as making Kentucky history available to everyone.
