Attorney General Rules in Favor of Concerned Members
On November 4, 2005, the Concerned Members made a formal written request of the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) for the names and contact information of its members and officers.

On November 14th, attorneys from the Commerce Cabinet responded on behalf of the KHS and denied the information to the Concerned Members.

On November 18th, the Concerned Members petitioned the Attorney General for the Commonwealth for a legal opinion regarding the denial.

On February 13, 2006, the Attorney General issued a decision upholding the right of the Concerned Members to access the names of KHS members. The AG stated the KHS had acted improperly in denying the names to Concerned Members. The AG also affirmed the right of the KHS not to disclose personal contact information which it deemed private.
